6th Sense: Student Invention to Help the Blind Navigate Safely

At St. Joseph’s Vocational School, Mbarara, innovation meets compassion. One of our brilliant students has invented what we proudly call the 6th Sense, a head-worn sensor designed to assist individuals who are blind in detecting obstacles. This device emits a beep sound when the user is just 75cm away from an object, helping them safely navigate their surroundings. Worn comfortably on the head, the 6th Sense provides a practical solution to a real-world challenge faced by millions. Key Features: Head-mounted ultrasonic sensor. Alerts user with a beep at 75cm proximity. Designed to promote independence for the visually impaired, join us in celebrating this amazing step forward in inclusive technology from Uganda’s youth innovators. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe to support more student-led innovations!
